About suggestions for a good antenna: Talking about myself for 48-45 meter good antenna's are inverted V and dipole. If You want's to beam better use an half wave Dipole, Otherwise an half wave inverted V is good for all directions. The best for an dipole is half wave above the ground or higher and of course good conditions!,

Heard a carrier on 6.677 last evening, maybe that was you. But unfortunatley QRM from strong scottish stations on 6.676 LSB made it very difficult for any good reception.
