Actually,medium wave seems OK too.........
The last 4 weeks have been pretty good.All stations with better signals than normal.
A short point about the "Relay stations".
I know that many of you don't regard these stations as "Proper Pirates".And,to a degree I can understand that.Except perhaps for Radio Waves Int,who continue Pirate transmissions as well as the relays.But most of the "Relay stations" are ex-Pirates.And deserve some respect for what they have done in the past.But my main point is,that whatever your opinion on these stations,they are still FREE RADIO.No restrictions on what they do at all!!And some of the programmes are really good!I enjoyed both the "Pirate" and "Relay" transmissions from Radio Waves Int today and the programme from Radio Gloria Int was really superb.Maybe a little more respect is deserved................
As for the "Proper Pirates",it was a good weekend.
Even the weaker stations were coming through nicely.But special mentions to Radio Condor,Orion Radio,Radio Scotland,Radio Quintus,Radio Brandaris Int,Zender Blackpower and of course Radio Boomerang.
Who all had very good signals.Radio Boomerang did especially well with what he anounced as "Full power of 100 watts"!!He was the strongest Pirate of the weekend by far.......even stronger than 6140 and 9290.....
.....truly amazing for 100 watts!!!!!!!!!!!I believe he has a very good aerial and lives on a Dutch mountain!
Very rare those Dutch mountains................
Interesting to hear Martin Scott on LHH talking about the London FM Pirates.He saw Point Blank FM as being one of the biggest and best.I would agree with him but Ice Cold FM are pretty good too but have been off the air recently.
There were a few interference problems down on 6205-6220 and also up on 6300-6320,but as I have said before,I think we are going to have to learn to live with this as it is almost unavoidable,especially with improved conditions and increased activity.
As always I would be interested if any of you could clear up any of my UNID's.Especially the station on 6300 that played "Delilah" and "Pretty Woman" and was heard all over Europe
by several listeners.Surely someone wants to claim this one!!
