R. Merlin on tonight

:) Got e-mail from Merlin that they will be on tonight starting 7 p.m. UK time and running through the night. Frequency for this will be 6270.3, to avoid the splash from R. Cairo on 6290. Hope reception conditions will be good! Cheers! :beerparty:

Ooops, meant to say 6305.1. I have mailing address Pastinaak 4, 7447 NJ Nijverdaal, Netherlands, from ukdxers shortwavedx blogspot, so I will try sending report via "snail mail." Cheers! :)

:ahowy: Good evening, my friend. Caught a couple nice, clear ID's from Radio Mazda on about 6305.1 just before 2220 s/off.

Cheers! :beerparty:

:ahowy: Have had a nice carrier on 6280.1 since 2200, but splash from that darned Radio Cairo on 6290 makes pulling out details next to impossible. Incredible reception conditions from European Pirate stations the last 2 days, and none of the usual annoying summer static crashes. Got a couple nice c...

UNID 6210.0/6280.1/6305.1/6265.0

:?: Weak carrier again on 6210.0 Also stronger carrier on 6280.1, but heavy splash from Radio Cairo on 6290 makes getting any details next to impossible; maybe Merlin? Also nice carrier on 6305.1, and a little bit of music coming through 2203, but still a couple hours from local sunset (2203 UTC= 18...

:?: Continued after the end of 'Dark Side' with more Pink Floyd, first 'Wish You Were Here,' then live version of 'Comfortably Numb' (which is what I am getting now that the 6-pack is gone!) But the whole band seemed to drop off around 2320, as I also just about lost the signal from Altrex on...

Aaah, I thought so. For some reason the whole band seemed to drop off around 2320, and I lost your carrier around 2340. I could hear some music and your voice, but just not quite strong enough to identify anything clearly. #-o I think there was an exceptional opening from Europe to here on 48-...

:veryhi Still trying, but still a little bit early as it is still very sunny here. Can hear a little bit of music but not quite strong enough to recognize any songs yet. Not quite late enough to visit my bed here yet! I know you probably have to get up in the morning, so maybe next Friday or ...

2252 playing Floyd's 'Us and Them" and continuing with the 'Dark Side of the Moon' album. My favorite album of all time--I saw the tour live in Pittsburgh in 1973, and the second half of the show was the entire "Dark Side' album played in its entirety from beginning to end. Don't...

:ahowy: Hope you can stay on for at least another hour-and-a-half or so. Even though still bright sunny day here in the state of West Virginia in the eastern U.S. (2145 UTC=1745 local time), the 48-m.b. is starting to come in already. Mystery (presumed) on 6220 already coming in; SWBC Radio Nacional...

Someone on 6210?

:?: Mystery Radio practically booming in here despite static crashes as heavy thunderstorms are rapidly approaching. Also getting a carrier dead on 6210.0. Can't hear any programming yet; still over an hour before sunset, and static crashes are making things difficult. Only SWBC stn. listed on this ...

SWCH e-QSL

 Just got my e-QSL's for yesterday's Short Wave Combination Holland special broadcast. Thanks to Jos and all for the quick reply and nice QSL's! Hope another one of these special broadcasts will come a little later in the year when reception should be better and less summertime static cras...

:ahowy: Also starting to come in now here in West Virginia. Music coming through the static crashes, but not strong enough to ID the songs. Still a very hot and sunny day here (1820 local time), but should get better as it gets later. If you can stay on after 2400, should come in very well. Can now ...

But no other SWBC'er anywhere near there in English that time of day that would propagate over here, and good time from Europe though, so still good chance was a pirate. Also, picking up carrier right now on 5810.0, and only SWBC on this freq. is WEWN, which doesn't come on until 0000 UTC, and per G...

:ahowy: Korean is a hard one to understand, so prob. was the YL. And I forgot you're in same part of the world, so too late for Malabo to propagate over here. And neither uses English on this freq., so probably was European. Hope someone else heard it, or the op. will see the post and reply. 73's! A...
