Saturday evening log, 18 April

Post by Jan II »

Hello folks!
Checked the mediumwave as it was announced that Old Time Radio was to appear there. This is very interesting because finnish pirates don´t transmit on mediumwave. I have only heard one before, Radio Royals, who was testing one night on the old 227 metres (before Norway started on 1314 kHz). It was 1979 or 1980... So:

2201-2233* 1670 Old Time Radio loud and clear rocking and twisting. At the end they said they were listening in hope of some QSO. When I passed the frequency 2250, they were on the air again, but not for a wery long time. I checked around to see if I could hear some station calling OTR. :P

2258-2325 1655 Radio Santana uit Beilen with a long musicprogramme.
2259-2303 1661,7 Klas Snoek talking a little. Reports to James Bond, Santana, Alpenjager.
2304-2304 1645 Radio Barcelona Just heard an ID and then music.
2307-2307 1629 Radio Monte Carlo with reports to dutch stations.
2310-2313 1665 unid mentioning Klas Snoek, then waltz. Bad reception, distorted sound under a carrier...
2315-2319* 1651,5 Studio 69 with reports to dutch stations. Also mentioning a mail from Dr Tim.
*2320-2325* 1650 Kleine Man with reports to Klas Snoek and James Bond, then rock'n'roll.
2327-2328 1650 James Bond amateur reports to Kleine Man, Studio 69, Alpenjager.
2329-2330 1635,2 Radiozender Alpenjager reports to Kleine Man and Studio 69.
2336-2338 1620,2 Zender Napoleon with a musicprogramme. "Love hurts".
2338-2341 1631,5 unid discostation.

etc etc. I stopped to note there as the same stations came on over and over again reporting each other. Noone seemed to have heard OTR.

But it was a great programme and good music! :pirate-great:
Kiitti vanhat parrat!

:beerparty:
