Post by Ray Lalleu »

Transmissions almost not reported elsewhere (Alfa Lima, European blogs). Only Optimod reported twice, and Calypso reported many times but no mention of a Dr Tim relay. All others not found in logs and blogs. All UTC.

Tuesday 29 April
6925usb UNID, 19.35, disturbed by utilities
3905 R.OPTIMOD, 20.34* with "Pop-Corn". Very strong, not heard outside France?
6925usb UNID (the Wave??), ID? at 22.11 22.15 22.18

Thursday 1 May
6275 R. Doctor TIM (on R. Calypso?). 16.16 Dr Tim ID. German music programme 16-17 approx.

Sunday 4 May
6882a UNID, 8.02. Very weak (on a portable outdoor).
6275.0 Two UNIDS very close, 11.35. Of course, one should be R.Calypso, but music only.
6278.2 R. L'ARBOC, ID at 15.45 (was only a het before Calypso s/off). Very weak later.
6305.0 UNID, 14.55. Instrumental dutch music only (not schlager, not polka). Still on at 15.10
6400.0 UNID, 15.45 - 16.40. Many cock-a-doodle-dos above music, almost no speech.
6245.2 UNID (R. L'ARBOC again ???), 19.45-20.30 in Spanish. Pop and jazz, then long talk by W with background music, and maybe weak IDs. Bird cage noise before time pips at 20.30. Could it be someone relaying the Radio L'Arboc stream?

The Wave 6925 USB

Post by curious george »

Ray,

It sounds like you logged the US pirate, "The Wave" on 6925 USB. Several logs of this reported on the FRN, and Ragnar has an audio clip, so you can listen and compare if it sounds like what you heard:

Thanks Jojo,

Thanks George.

I was not sure "the Wave" could be the name of a station, but no ID problem once I know about this station. 6925 is always a strange frequency...
