Correct Station Name?

Can anyone help me with the correct station name for the station that was on 6308.2-6308.3 between 2113 to 2158 UTC on Saturday night? It sounded either like "Double Kilo Radio, from the east side of Holland", or could it be "Zulu Kilo Radio"? They gave the Ruurlo maildrop addres...

Merci

Thank you Marcel for the ID. I couldn't stay any longer to listen for their ID. I have heard Blue Star before on 48 meters, but am pleased to log them on 76 meters.

DXing on Cape Cod

Just a quick note to let the operators know that I heard two new stations this evening. One was on 3904 kHz, heard around 2200 UTC, playing Dutch music. It sounded like a live program, with two DJ's. Earlier, I heard a station on 6308.3 kHz, another Dutch station, with the Ruurlo maildrop. The stati...

Remote DX Site on Saturday Evening

If all goes as planned, I will be at a remote DX site near the ocean on Saturday, Dec 29, around 2000 UTC.

If any operators plan to do some evening broadcasts, I'll be listening out for you between 6200 and 6400 kHz for about 2 hours.

Very Long Skip on Sunday

I don't think I've ever had a Europirate reception this early. It's now 1809 UTC in NY, and I have a station, presumed to be Mystery Radio on 6219.9 kHz, at S3. Lots of static, as it's raining here at the moment. I couldn't hear Mystery on a UK web receiver, so apparently the band has gone very, ver...

European Free Radio Report for week ending December 16, 2007

My original post got deleted by accident, so here it is again: Conditions have been improving the past two weekends, but the only chance I had to listen was early this morning, in the middle of a winter storm. Static levels were very high, but I was happy to log a new station, despite the poor weath...

Carrier Only

I was listening on Saturday night in NY, and could only detect a carrier with no audible music or audio on 6955.04 kHz. Even if you were playing music, it's not unusual with the distances, low tranmitter powers, and marginal propagation for us not to hear any audio. The best time to try if you'd lik...

Carrier on 6955

Are you on all night long? I've got a carrier here in NY on 6955.04 kHz at 0105 UTC. Wonder if that could be your station?

6220 kHz Saturday Night

Any idea who is on 6220 kHz at 2210 UTC? Sounds weaker than Mystery Radio would be here, so I don't think it's Mystery. SINPO 24332 in New York. Just heard a version of the Franki Valli song "Pretty Baby", now "Everybody Wang Chung" tonight. ID at 2215, it is Mystery Radio. Not t...

Best Time for 48 Meters to USA

Around this time of year, I would suggest you try between 2100 and 2200 UTC if you would like to reach the USA on 48 meters. There are many other variables of course, like solar conditions, your transmitter power, and antenna. But 2100 seems to be an ideal time in the winter for 48 meters.

Weekend Music Radio Sunday Afternoon 6400 kHz

Looks like the good Europirate conditions are continuing. Have WMR here in NY on 6400 kHz at 2030 UTC with the Andy Walker show, playing disco music. Now at 2035 with an air check from Radio Invicta. SIO 333, but USB + sync is needed to escape UTE QRM on LSB.

6305 kHz Saturday Night in NY

Very strong pirate on 6305 at 2157, playing a rock/pop ballad in German I believe. Suspect this is Radio Boomerang, almost sounds like broadcast station.

Yes, ID just at closedown

Propagation

Propagation appears to be much better than the past 2 weekends. I've got weak audio from WMR on 6399.92 at 1936 UTC here in NY. Much better than the past two weekends, when I couldn't even detect their carrier.

Thanks

Thanks Robin, it must have been Iran then. Propagation this past weekend was extremely poor; normally I would hear Iran without any problem, but this time they were barely audible. Equally disturbing was that I couldn't even detect WMR's carrier on 6400 the entire weekend; very unusual. The solar fl...

Anyone on 6264.9 kHz on Sunday Night?

Probably just wishful thinking on my part, but I've got some weak talk on 6264.9 kHz in AM mode around 1920 UTC here in NY. Is this a pirate, anyone else hearing it?
