Yes I am using tubes on the TX (4 tubes)with build in power supply but the generator is still heavier.
The TX is also much smaller (without the modulator).

Oh no Michel. A signal generator produces only 100 milliwatts. I can not measure this weak signal it with my Diawa watt meter. But it can make a very clean signal from 0 - 100 mHz.
